The Trip of all Trips

After two and a half weeks of living out of a suitcase, I am finally back in my Madrid piso; But I have yet to move out of my suitcase sitting on the floor beside me.

The Christmas break was everything I had hoped for, beside the weight gain. The cities were amazing, experiences unforgettable and food obviously very delicious. But one of the best things of all was having my family traveling alongside me (almost) the entire time. Coming all the way from the states to see me (and of course Europe) for the holidays, we ventured to seven cities and three countries together—a true test to a family, for sure. With only a few obstacles along the way, we made it through, bags heavier and wallets lighter (well at least my parents’ wallets…)

Here’s how my last few weeks played out before diving into the details:

December 20-23, Granada by myself to meet family friends who live there (yes I’m cool and have family friends from Spain).

December 23-27, I flew to Belgium to meet my roommate Kate and her boyfriend, Camden to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas in Belgium (three different cities: Brussels, Bruges and Ghent).

December 27-29, met my family in London!

December 29-January 1, Paris (celebrating New Years Eve here!)

January 1-4, Avignon in southern France (with day trips to Arles and Nimes)

January 4-6, Barcelona

January 6-10, Madrid (with family going to Granada without me from 8-9)

WARNING: The next handful of blog posts will all be centered on my fabulous travels with fabulous people and it will make you very jealous.
