IN MADRID

This is my orientation hotel that CIEE provides throughout my five-day orientation (ending on the 19th) and then a week or so after in order for me to find an official piso (apartment)!

Ask me for my Madrid address, just incase anyone feels inclined to send a care package…

This cafe is so cute and has everything from breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, desserts, snacks and of course, coffee! We already have our photo up on the wall...

The bilingual school I work at as a Language & Culture Assistant!

This park is not only breathtaking but also enormous. Kate and I took a stroll through the park and didn't even get through all of it in an hour. It has gorgeous fountains, beautiful pathways and even a crystal "palace."

This was where we went to watch the royal family (or the goat) arrive in Madrid. El DÃa Nacional de España celebrates the discovery of the Americas.

To be exact, just El Escorial: the historical royal palace that now holds the remains of the past 5 centuries of Spanish kings! Also the most beautiful library I've ever stepped foot into.

How many people can say they've eaten at the oldest restaurant in the WORLD? It opened in 1725 here in Madrid and is still dishing out its rich Spanish food today. It even still retains its 18th century firewood oven.
