TapaPiés en Lavapiés

Once a year Madrileños and curious, always-eating foreigners like myself gather in the Lavapiés district to score on some 2 euro tapas and cervezas.
Different restaraunts participate in the festival. My roommates and I walked down the busy street with live music playing and people out on the streets drinking beers and enjoying small (but delicious) finger foods. Each restaraunt was serving a specific tapa, from little tacos, to cod, to croquetas (my fave!) And then of course a beer along with it. All for 2 euros!!!
We had eaten dinner before, so couldn't stuff our faces too much. But the night went as follows:
Bacalao (Cod) con Salsa at Café Taberna Alabanda
Boulette (Meatball) at Portomarín
Chocolate con Churros at Lacaña
Fine print: Tortilla de patata con morcilla de Burgos

Looks good doesn't it?
Did you read the fine print? Oh yeah, we made that mistake too. As we dipped our churros into the chocolate, we immediatley knew something was wrong. Do we taste...salt?
When we went back to the handy booklet that was passed out to us at the festival, we realized that the churro was actually made from tortilla de patata (not bad) and the chocolate was none other than...SAUSAGE BLOOD!
NOOOOOOO.
Other than that, it was fun. Definetly worth going every year! If I were here for longer...but will I go back for the sausage blood? Wouldn't count on it.
